QUATTUOR ELLIUS

Country: France

Dorian Michéle Christian Charton Léa Sophie Alice Mercier Yoann Rampon Clément Goy

The Quattuor Ellius was born in Strasbourg within the Haute école des arts du Rhin. The band’s sound, virtuosity, and musical qualities have allowed them to stand out quickly on the international scene and win many distinctions like the 1st Prize of the Concours International Leopold Bellan. The musicians are now supported by the Arpèges Armand Meyer store and the Miraphone brand. Since its inception in 2015, Ellius has continuously explored the possibilities offered by this type of musical ensemble. It allows them to evolve over a wide range with a round and captivating sound, which is entirely their own. Thanks to hard work, commitment, and talent, the quartet quickly became one of the major representatives of this atypical formation, both in France and around the world, as well as a worthy representative of the French school of brass. Still with the idea to introduce or help a wide audience rediscover the tuba and to develop its practice, the work of the Ellius quartet has been structured around three main activities: developing the repertoire, giving concerts and master classes throughout France, and, finally, spearheading various educational projects.
