Thomas Haberlah, born 1962 in Waibstadt near Heidelberg, studied piano with Hans Thürwächter in Mannheim and in Hannover with David Wilde (a student of the legendary Nadia Boulanger). Masterclasses with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Leonid Brumberg, Oxana Yablonskaya, and his participation in several international piano competitions completed his musical education. In 1992 he won a prize at the 3rd International Franz Liszt Piano Concours in Utrecht, Netherlands, as to date the only German in the history of this competition .
His repertoire includes works not only for piano, but occasionally also organ, celesta, harpsichord and harmonium from early baroque era up to classical modern pieces.
He has been working as piano assistant at the ‘Musikhochschule Hannover’ since 1993. As a guest lecturer he presented a special seminar in 2009, titled Sonatas for flute and piano by German composers in the 1920s  at the Musikhochschule Malmö, Sweden. He works frequently as a piano accompanist at international music-festivals and masterclasses like ‘Ticino Musica Lugano’, ‘International Summer Academy Prag-Wien-Budapest’, ‘Konzertarbeitswochen Goslar’, ‘Mendelssohn-Festival Hamburg’; together with Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Peitz, Karl Leister, Eberhard Feltz, Andrea Lieberknecht, Felix Renggli, Karl-Heinz Steffens, Vicens Prats and many others. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has toured not only in Europe but also to Korea and Japan.
