The National Gallery stands opposite the Opera House and SS Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, close to Tivoli Park, on a site bounded by four streets: Cankarjeva, Prešernova, Puharjeva and Prežihova. The main entrance is on Prešernova, at number 24.
Parking
Paid on-street parking places are available in the streets around the Gallery. The nearest large public car park is in Tivoli Park, just a few minutes’ walk away, which is accessed via an underpass with an exit directly opposite the Gallery.
Public transport
The National Gallery is close to the city centre and Slovenska Cesta, which is served by almost all city buses.
Access for people with reduced mobility
The National Gallery is equipped with ramps and lifts. Wheelchair access to the exhibition spaces is via the main entrance on Prešernova, where there is also a doorbell to open the door.
Wheelchair users can move independently around the Gallery and the exhibition spaces on all floors, although the assistance of staff is required for access to the permanent exhibition on the ground floor and the Narodni Dom Gallery in the basement.
Toilet facilities are suitably equipped for people with reduced mobility.
