In 2020 we marked the 250th anniversary of the death of the famous Piran-born violinist, violin teacher, composer and music theorist Giuseppe Tartini (1692–1770). With the concert “Reflections of Tartini”, a concert by Boris Bizjak, Domen Marinčič and Tomaž Sevšek Šramel, a concert by Richard Galliano, Massimo Mercelli and I Solisti Aquilani, and a concert by the violinist Črtomir Šiškovič, the Ljubljana Festival joined the European cross-border project “tARTini”, which brings together institutions in Piran, Ljubljana, Trieste and Padua with the aim of stimulating cultural tourism and promoting cultural heritage.
