Plácido Domingo at the White Nights Festival in St Petersburg

After performing in Madrid, Munich and Paris, the legendary opera singer also appeared at the famous Whites Night Festival in St Petersburg, thrilling audiences over the course of three concert evenings.

On 25 June, Domingo performed the title role in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under the celebrated conductor Valery Gergiev, whose outstanding performance opened the 69th Ljubljana Festival on 1 July.

Three days later, on June 28, Domingo assumed the role of conductor for Camille Saint-Saëns’ Samson and Delilah, while on the third and final evening, the maestro presented a selection of zarzuela arias alongside Maria Kataeva, a 2019 Operalia Competition winner, and other singers.

On July 8, the legendary opera singer will also take to the stage of the 69th Ljubljana Festival, where he will be joined by sopranos Sabina Cvilak and Saioa Hernández and accompanied by the RTV Slovenija Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Jordi Bernàcer.
