Founded in 1982, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra is considered one of China’s best orchestras and is increasingly well known on the international circuit, having performed around the world (United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Turkey, India, South Africa, Indonesia, Korea and Thailand) and collaborated with artists of the calibre of José Carreras. The orchestra will be conducted at this concert by Lin Daye, its music director since 2016. Appearing with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra will be two internationally renowned soloists – cellist Jiapeng Nie and violinist Tianwa Yang. Nie, already a familiar face at the Ljubljana Festival, is a graduate of the National University in Singapore and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. Tianwa Yang entered the Conservatory of Music in Beijing at the age of ten and her talent was soon attracting media attention. Just three years later, she released her first album on CD.
