Guitarist Saša Dejanović began studying classical guitar in his native Banja Luka. He continued his studies at music schools in Sarajevo and Zagreb, before entering the Zagreb Academy of Music, where he studied with Darko Petrinjak. Having won a number of important guitar competitions by the age of 19, he entered the Accademia Internazionale Superiore di Musica di Biella (Italy), where he studied with famed guitar teacher Angelo Gilardino. A scholarship from the KDZ Young Musicians’ Fund enabled him to complete his studies at the Royal College of Music in London. He has continued his artistic career with concerts in prestigious concert halls in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Norway, Japan, the USA and South America. His performances have garnered enthusiastic responses from audiences and critics everywhere, and some connoisseurs even consider him to be among the successors of the legendary Spanish guitarists Andrés Segovia and Narciso Yepes. His extensive repertoire covers many different styles. Saša Dejanović has recorded for numerous radio and television stations in Croatia, Germany, Austria and Spain. One of his most notable achievements is an album of guitar arrangements of J. S. Bach’s complete works for lute. On the occasion of the present “Vintage Evening”, the guitarist will perform works by Spanish composers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
