Križanke Summer Theatre

The roof of the Križanke Summer Theatre was damaged by late snowfall in 2016. As a result, seating in the venue is currently exposed to the elements. Seats in rows 9A, 14 and 15, seats in the balconies and seats located by statues and towers have a restricted view of the stage.

The MD7 Contemporary Music Ensemble has performed at the Ljubljana Festival before. Since 2001, it has been managed by Pavel Mihelčič, a composer and Professor Emeritus at the Academy of Music. Like last year, the baton will be in the hand of American-Slovenian composer and conductor Steven Loy. This year’s theme is colour. According to the ensemble’s artistic director, they will perform new pieces connected with colours, which can be achieved with instrumentation and the sound pallet of instruments …
