Mak Muni Mihevc began playing the piano at the age of four and his first piano teacher was Andreja Kosmač. To date he has won seven first prizes at international piano competitions and come in third in the senior category. He has achieved numerous successes under the guidance of the distinguished pianist prof. Zoltan Peter, his mentor for many years. He gave his first full piano recital at the age of ten, with a programme of works by Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin. He has performed piano concertos by Mozart, Grieg, Chopin and Addinsell both in Slovenia and abroad, with conductors Simon Krečič, Simon Perčič, Matjaž Brežnik, Günter Neuhold, Ričardas Šumila and Jan Miłosz Zarzycki. He has performed with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra in Lithuania and with the Symphony Orchestra of the Slovene National Theatre Maribor at the closing concert of the Maribor Festival. He has twice performed in winners’ recitals at Carnegie Hall in New York. He is currently studying at the Zagreb Academy of Music under the renowned pianist Lovro Pogorelić.
