Domen Lorenz, a violinist and recipient of numerous awards, has appeared as a soloist with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana Orchestra and Camerata Labacensis. His other major successes include performances in Frankfurt and at the RTV Slovenia St Nicholas Charity Concert, as well as highly successful recitals at the European Summer of Music in Bergamo and Prague. Meanwhile, the cellist Bernardo Brizani is an honorary associate of the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana Orchestra. In the first part, the duo will play two string duets by the immensely prolific Austrian composer Franz Anton Hoffmeister, who today is best known as a musical publisher due to the fact that in 1785 he established one of the first publishing houses in Vienna. The second part will feature two string duets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – pieces that demonstrate the composer’s mastery of melodic invention, harmony and interplay between instruments, as expressed in the medium of chamber music.
