In October and November, we invite you to watch a ballet by Edward Clug – the choreographer and artistic director of the SNG Maribor Ballet – on Mezzo TV, one of the leading French TV channels dedicated to classical music and jazz.
Both performances were recorded in the 70th and 71st Ljubljana Festivals.
The premiere screening of Carmina Burana, a ballet driven by parallels between the cycles of nature and human life and desire – and in particular the awakening of nature in spring – will be on 24 October at 8:30 pm. The premiere will be followed by 12 more screenings until 17 November.
From 5 to 24 November, there will also be 12 screenings of Stravinsky’s ballet diptych: The Rite of Spring & Les Noces. The production is based on Nijinsky’s original dance creation, because of its hermetism and “disturbing” progressiveness for the time. This is Clug’s tribute to Nijinsky and his role in the development of contemporary dance art.
