Christmas and New Year’s surprise concerts by the Slovenian Philharmonic

The Slovenian Philharmonic has revealed the programme of its online Christmas and New Year’s surprise concerts.

The Christmas concert entitled Heavenly Strings will be held tonight, 18th December, at 19:30, and streamed on the website. The audience will hear works by J.S. Bach, F. Gerbič, A. Čopi and C. Vremšak. The soprano Theresa Plut and harpsichordist Domen Marinčič will be accompanied by the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir.

The New Year’s concert, entitled Invitation to the Dance, will be held on 1st January at 18:00, and also streamed on the website. The programme will include works by J. Ipavec, J. Brahms, B. Britten, D. Shostakovich, G. Rossini, S. Premrl and A. Srebotnjak, A. Lajovic, J. Strauss Jr., A. Dvořák and H. Berlioz. The Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir will be conducted by Philipp von Steinaecker, and the concert will feature the soloists Sorin Crudu on oboe and Ivan Ferčič on piano.

Both concerts can be viewed free of charge.
