The Japanese pianist Yumi Sekiya studied at the State University for Art and Music in Tokyo and then completed master classes at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München with Prof. Klaus Schilde. Master classes with Rudolf Buchbinder rounded off her training.
Since 1992 she has been a lecturer at the Munich University of Music and Drama, and is the official piano accompanist at internationally renowned music competitions (ARD Music Competition Munich, Hindemith-Competition in Munich, Markneukirchen in Germany, Tokyo Viola Competition) as well as at international master classes in Europe and Japan.
A sought-after chamber music partner, Yumi Sekiya has already given numerous concerts in many cities in Europe and Japan.
