Lovers of great classical music will once again be able to hear the renowned Spanish opera singer and conductor Plácido Domingo, who will be performing in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb. Domingo will be conducting Verdi’s Requiem, performed by the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra and Choir, and soloists will include the soprano Lana Kos, mezzosoprano Jelena Kordić, tenor Filip Filipović and bass Ivica Čikeš. The concert will take place on Saturday, 12th November at 7.30 pm.
The legendary Plácido Domingo is the holder of numerous honorary doctorates and the winner of multiple Grammy Awards. Over the course of his long career, he has sung more than 150 tenor roles – more than any other tenor to date. Perhaps best known as one of the legendary Three Tenors, in recent years he has enjoyed a growing reputation as a conductor. In Slovenia we have been able to see him perform on three occasions: at the 67th Ljubljana Festival, when he conducted Verdi’s Requiem, and at the 69th and jubilee 70th Ljubljana Festivals, when he performed a programme of opera and zarzuela arias for baritones.
Tickets for the concert are available at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall counter and website.
