Some of the biggest names in opera will be performing at this year’s Ljubljana Festival accompanied by the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra – the Festival’s resident orchestra – and the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra.

Legendary Spanish singer Plácido Domingo will be joined onstage by the sopranos Saioa Hernández and Sabina Cvilak. Bulgarian opera star Sonya Yoncheva will make her first appearance in Slovenia alongside the excellent tenor Branko Robinšak. Internationally acclaimed soprano Nika Gorič will perform with the Ensemble Dissonance under the baton of Marko Letonja. We will also see the return of top tenor Jonas Kaufmann together with German conductor Jochen Rieder, and a performance by superstar Russian diva Anna Netrebko. Argentinian tenor José Cura will perform with two choirs, an orchestra and a selection of international soloists under the baton of conductor Mario De Rose.
