Hamo & Tribute 2 Love concerts are always a treat for blues rock enthusiasts. Fifty shows a year and seven albums over the course of a 20-year career in which there’s hardly a venue in the country they haven’t sold out and filled with smiles. Experiences that few home-grown artists can match. Over the years their blend of tenderness, roguishness, humour and seriousness has become their trademark, with each concert adding a new stamp of quality. Concerts for audiences with good taste. This time they’re going big – with the best big band in the country and a new look – as they return to the stage at Križanke, a venue they love to play. A treat to end the summer with. Expect bold new arrangements by Tadej Tomšič and the first chance to hear songs from their upcoming album, all wrapped in a big band sound that will raise everything to a new level of lubezen – the band’s word for love.

 

• The nickname Hamo derives from a humorous misunderstanding when a Greek goldsmith, suspicious of Matevž Šalehar’s appearance, accidentally set off the alarm in his shop. This unfortunate occurrence led to the nickname “Hamas”, which later became “Hamo”. Over time, Hamo has become Matevž Šalehar’s always cheerful alter ego, while he himself prefers a little more privacy.
