The global phenomenon, The Phantom of the Opera, is making its spectacular Slovenian debut this coming summer at Cankarjev dom from 9 to 20 July for a limited season. The Phantom of the Opera is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most critically acclaimed musical, having won over 70 major theatre awards, including four Olivers and seven Tonys. Seen by over 160 million people worldwide in 48 territories, 198 cities and 21 languages, this haunting love story continues to take the world by storm. Inspired by Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel, Le Fantôme de L’Opéra, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of a mysterious masked figure who lurks beneath the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with a young soprano, Christine Daaé, and devotes himself to nurturing her extraordinary talents, employing all of the devious methods at his command. The Ljubljana Festival, Cankarjev dom, VignaPR/Koda Events and Broadway Entertainment Group bring this latest production to Ljubljana, with a star cast from the West End and Broadway.
