On Sunday, 7 July, the traditional International Arts Colony began in Križanke, which this year is the 27th year at the Ljubljana Festival. “Time really passes quickly – but the basic concept of the arts colony practically remained the same as it was initially conceived, as its interesting contents changed, supplemented and upgraded every year so that it became an event of prestigious importance, especially in the circles of artists and connoisseurs. will be for invited creators as well as loyal followers of events on the international cultural scene in Ljubljana,” said selector Tomo Vran about the colony, which has been attracting professional visual artists to Ljubljana every year since 1998. The painters spend the week with the colorful festival happenings within the framework of the Ljubljana Festival and create in the ambience of Plečnik’s Križanke and transfer their experience of various events to the canvas.
Fine art lovers are invited to the opening of the XXVII. International Arts Colony Exhibition. International Arts Colony, which will be held on Friday, 12 July, at 12.00 pm in the Knights’ Hall of Križanke. Painter Sofia Švejdová from the Czech Republic, Zhao Peizhi from China, Zlatko Krstevski from North Macedonia and Ahmet Özel from Turkey will present their works at the opening, as well as Slovenian painters Marko Tušek, Luka Šikor, Andreja Srna and Simon Mlakar. Vran points out that he is proud of the traditional project organized by the Ljubljana Festival, as it intertwines fine art with music and the artist, thus offering new inspirations and ideal conditions for creation.
