Artistic direction: Emanuel Abbühl, oboe

Emanuel Abbühl was as principal oboe joining the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic. From 2006 until 2013 he was principal oboe with the London Symphony Orchestra under Sir Colin Davis, Bernard Haitink and Valery Gergiev. He recorded several Oboe concertos and chamber music for Pan Classics, Sony Music, Philips and others.

He has been dedicating one part of his time in teaching since many years – at the Academy of Music at Rotterdam, later at the Royal Academy of Music in London and from 2005 as professor at the University of Music and Arts Mannheim and the Academy of Music in Basel.
