The French pianist Nicolas Bourdoncle was born in Aix-en-Provence in 1998. His style of piano playing is full of passion, musicality and self-confidence. He began learning to play the piano with his father Michel Bourdoncle, a famous pianist and teacher. Nicolas soon began attending the conservatory in Marseilles and continued his studies under Roger Muraro and Isabelle Dubuis at the Paris Conservatory where he graduated in 2015 with the highest honours. He is currently being taught by Nelson Goerner at the Secondary music school in Geneva and Bernard d’Ascoli from the organisation Piano Cantabile. In 2012 he won third prize at the International competition in Hanoi, Vietnam, and in 2019 at the Premio Jaen international piano competition. Since his first solo performance at the age of 10 in Odessa, he has shown himself to be a rising star of French piano-playing.
