The outstanding concert musicians appearing this evening have already worked together for several years as teachers at the summer music academy at Feldkirchen in the Austrian state of Carinthia. During the academy, as well as working with young musicians, they also devote themselves with great enthusiasm to music-making, with an always satisfying and varied programme. On this occasion they come together in an unusual ensemble to present a programme of works by Clara and Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms, among which numerous connections may be found. Interestingly, the centrepiece of the programme, the Brahms Trio, was written on the shore of the Wörthersee in Austrian Carinthia.
