Alexander Gadjiev won second prize and the Special Krystian Zimerman Prize for the Best Performance of a Sonata at the Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
The competition, which is named after the Polish-French pianist and composer, is one of the hardest and most prestigious piano competitions in the world, and presents a large number of outstanding young pianists every five years. The list of winners in the course of the competition’s history speaks for itself; Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Krystian Zimerman, among others.
Congratulations to Alexander for this unique musical achievement and our profound admiration for your five wonderful performances in the course of the competition.
