In order to bring some comfort, artistic solidarity and warmth to your homes during these times, below we publish a list of performances of the Vienna State Opera, which you can watch for free in the coming days (including today).
This time their repertoire focuses on the works of Richard Strauss. A historical highlight from their archives is a recording of the »Rosenkavalier« under the musical direction of Carlos Kleiber from 1994. For all those who missed the revival of Harry Kupfer’s legendary »Elektra« production under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst last September, there is now the possibility to make up for this online.
In addition to the Richard Strauss focus, they are showing the visually stunning production of »Les Troyens«, production by Peter Konwitschny’s »Don Carlos« with Jonas Kaufmann in the title role, as well as a classical »Swan Lake« choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev.
