Fabio Furia, a world-class concert performer, composer and arranger, is considered to be one of the most important bandoneonists in Europe. He has performed in renowned concert halls the world over, including the Auditorium Parco della Musica (Rome), Rudolfinum Dvořák Hall (Prague), Tonhalle Zürich, Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi (Cremona), National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing), BOZAR Theatre (Brussels), Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Onassis Stegi (Athens), and the Konzerthaus Klagenfurt.
He started studying piano and classical accordion at the age of seven. At the age of 16, he began studying clarinet at the He then graduated with honours in only four years under the guidance of maestro R. Gander. Fabio studied further with some of the best clarinettists in the world, including Antony Pay, Alessandro Carbonare, and Wenzel Fuchs. In parallel with a concert career playing the clarinet, he undertook study of the bandoneon and graduated at the Conservatory Gennevilliers in Paris.
Fabio is a founder and member of the Novafonic Quartet. He is also the founder and artistic director of two cultural associations, one being the Anton Stadler Cultural Association (Associazione Anton Stadler), and the creator of important music seasons such as the International Chamber Music Festival in Utrecht, established in 1998, ARTango & Jazz Festival, and the Bandoneon International Masterclass, an event that attracts young musicians from all over the world. He founded the Italian Bandoneόn Academy with which he organises masterclasses and concerts with the most important soloists in the world. From 2014 until 2018 he taught bandoneon at the Cagliari Music Conservatory, the first bandoneon course in Italy.
