Jure Goručan

Jure Goručan is a Slovenian pianist and percussionist, born 1992 in Ljubljana. As a pianist, he has studied in Cologne, Germany, in classes taught by A. Valdma and P. Alvares, and he is currently perfecting his craft under the guidance of L. Zilberstein at MdW University of Vienna in Austria. Goručan performs regularly across Europe and Asia, as a soloist as well as chamber musician. He has collaborated with prominent orchestras such as the Slovenian Philharmonic, RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Residence soloists of Munich of Munich, Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists, the Pärnu City Orchestra etc. Goručan has recorded four albums and appeared in multiple television broadcasts. He has made significant concert appearances in the context of multiple tours, and given masterclasses throughout China, where he also performed the world premiere of the Piano Sonata N.2 by the Colombian composer Arturo Cuellar at the Central Theatre of Shanghai. In the near future he will perform in Switzerland, Germany, Canada and China. Goručan’s inspirations and interests span across the spectrum of genres and styles, and he approaches music in an interdisciplinary manner, from scientific, psychological, mystical and historical perspectives.
