John Malkovich’s Inferno

24. 03. 2021

To mark the 700th anniversary of the death of the Italian Renaissance poet Dante Alighieri, celebrated actor, director and producer John Malkovich brings to the stage a monodrama entitled John Malkovich’s Inferno, based on the motifs of Dante’s Inferno, the first part of Divine Comedy.

The actor will be accompanied by regular guests of the Ljubljana Festival I Solisti Aquilani, one of the most prestigious chamber orchestras in Italy, the acclaimed flautist Massimo Mercelli, whose impressive technique, musicality and charisma are admired by audiences and critics alike.

The music for this theatrical journey has been created by Gabriel Prokofiev, the grandson of the famous Sergei Prokofiev, whose approach consists of a reinterpretation of classical music with elements of contemporary styles.
