The Chamber Orchestra of Spanish Radio and Television (RTVE) brings together top-tier musicians from the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1965. Dedicated to the performance of chamber music, the ensemble’s artistic activities are regularly featured in Spanish and European television and radio broadcasts. Since its inception, the orchestra has been a regular guest at Spain’s most prestigious festivals and has performed in major European capitals, the United States, and Japan. Since 2023, its chief conductor has been Christoph König, while at the 73rd Ljubljana Festival, it will be led by maestro Marc Moncusí, a versatile conductor equally at home with symphonic repertoire as well as opera and ballet stages. He collaborates with orchestras such as the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, and many others. In 2004, he founded the Barcelona Modern Project ensemble, focusing on performances of contemporary works from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The soloist will be 20-year-old pianist Dmitri Ishkanov, regarded as one of the greatest talents of the new generation. In 2016, at the age of eleven, he became the youngest finalist in the history of the Eurovision Young Musicians competition, and at fourteen, he made his debut on the stage of the renowned Carnegie Hall. The Luzerner Zeitung has hailed him as the successor to Evgeny Kissin and Grigory Sokolov. Ishkanov is a frequent guest at numerous European music festivals and regularly performs at prestigious concert venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Kennedy Center, and others.
